REVAMP A MASJID – MALAWI

A Masjid is a key and central point for the propagation and worship of Allah. The key and fundamentals of Deen are imparted from there.

Many Masajid in Malawi are in poor conditions; some are dilapidated whilst others do not have proper structures and are easily destroyed in bad weather. Our aim is not only to construct Masajid in rural areas but also to revamp old dilapidated Masajid and revive the Masajid thereafter with the 5 daily Salah and Da’wah programs.

LILLAH FUNDS ONLY ACCEPTED FOR THIS PROJECT

There is no doubt that the construction of a Masjid will accrue rewards for a person during his lifetime as well as after his death. Construction of a Masjid is a Sadaqa (charity) that has recurring rewards.

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) mentioned:

عن أبى هريرة أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إذا مات الإنسان انقطع عنه عمله إلا من ثلاثة إلا من صدقة جارية أو علم ينتفع به أو ولد صالح يدعو له

“When man dies, his actions come to an end except three, the rewards of which keep accruing even after his death, (they are) Sadaqa (charity) that have recurring benefits, knowledge from which people continue to benefit, pious children who offer du’a on behalf of their deceased parents”
(Sahih Muslim, vol 2, pg 41, Kutub Khana Rasheediyya)

Likewise revamping a Masjid will have similar rewards.

In another Hadith, Rasullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) mentions that the construction of a Masjid will accrue reward for a person even after his death.

“The deeds for which a believer continues to receive their rewards even after his death are: Knowledge which he taught and propagated; pious children which he left behind; a Masjid that he constructed; a residence for travellers that he constructed; a canal that he dug; sadaqa (charity) that he gave during his life in good health; all these will assist him after his demise”

(Sahih Ibni Khuzaima, #2490, Al-Maktab al-Islami)

It has been related that the Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Whoever builds a Masjid for (the sake of) Allah, be it small or large, then Allah will build a house for him in Paradise.”[Jami` at-Tirmidhi 319 Book 2, Hadith 171]

SPONSOR A BOREHOLE

Sa’d bin Ubadah (Radhiyallahu anhu) asked: Which form of charity is most virtuous? Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) replied: “Arranging water for masses to drink”.

One Humanity Foundation’s water and sanitation projects in Malawi aims to provide access to safe and clean water by constructing waterwells and boreholes in rural areas throughout Malawi. On average, a waterwell can benefit upto 100-200 families four times per day depending on the location.

The water is used by families for washing, cooking, drinking, irrigation and farming etc.

Cost of a Borehole: R65,000 (As of 10/2020)

Cost of a Waterwell: R12,000 (As of 10/2020)

LILLAH ONLY

One Humanity teams on the ground in Malawi ensure regular feedback of areas that are in dire need.

Once the project has been completed, a plaque with your details will be put up and images of the borehole after completion will be sent to you.

Providing water in this way is an excellent way of offering a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) as the donor can expect to reap rewards from Allah for as long as the water is being used.

One may donate and make Isaal-e-Thawaab for ones beloved.

Sa’d bin Ubadah (Radiyallaahu anhu) once asked Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam): Can I donate something on behalf of my late mother? Rasullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) replied: Yes! Sa’d bin Ubadah (Radiyallaahu anhu) asked: Which form of charity is most virtuous? Rasullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) replied: “Arranging water for masses to drink”. [Sunan Al-Nasaaie, #3664, Maktab Al-Matbu’aat al-Islamiyya]

Allah Ta’ala says:

Those who spend their wealth in the Cause of Allaah, and do not follow up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, their reward is with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve”

[al-Baqarah 2:261-262]
