The Maktabs are personally overseen by the team of One Humanity on the ground in Malawi appointed by Mufti Ebrahim Desai (Rahimahullah).
The children are taught how to read the Quran, basic Fiqh, Aqeedah, Akhlaq and Adab, Taharah etc.
One Humanity Maktabs are supplied with uniforms, stationary, learning material, desks, chalkboards, Ustaadhs Salary, and basic text books etc.
Our aim is to educate the children with the necessities of Deen, save their Imaan, and bring a change in their communities. Tomorrow they shall be leaders who will serve and lead their communities. It is one form of Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity).
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) mentioned:
“When a man dies, his actions come to an end except three, the rewards of which keep accruing even after his death, (they are) Sadaqa (charity) that have recurring benefits, knowledge from which people continue to benefit, pious children who offer du’a on behalf of their deceased parents”. [Sahih Muslim]
